LA's PRE-K VOUCHER PROGRAM (NSECD)
NSECD program is funded through Louisiana Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and is located in the Governor's Office of Community Programs.

For the 2006-2007 school year:

  • 41 schools in 14 parishes foster NSECD programs
  • 1, 217 children are enrolled in NSECD classes
  • NSECD program budget is $ 8.5 million
  • The program spends $557 per student

SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES
Provided by the No Child Left Behind Act

Federal Title 1 Funds (approximately $500- 1,000 per child) can be used to provide supplemental education services including tutoring, after school services, and summer school programs for children in failing schools.
