MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Louisiana Children's Education Alliance (LCEA) is to improve the quality of education in Louisiana by providing parents with the liberty to select the school that works best for their family.

GOALS

Our goal is to educate parents, community leaders, and policy makers about how providing educational options to parents can empower them to chose the best education for their children, and have a positive impact on citizens and businesses in the community.

BOARD of DIRECTORS

Patrick H. Martin, V- President

Patrick H. Martin, V. is employed as an LSU System Attorney for the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors in Baton Rouge, LA.

Prior to joining the LSU system, Martin practiced law at P.H. Martin Law Firm in Baton Rouge from 2004-2005. He also served as Assistant Executive Counsel under Governor Mike Foster from 2000-2004. As Assistant Executive Counsel to Governor Foster, he was responsible for the legal aspects of developing and implementing a pilot voucher program for underprivileged pre-school children in New Orleans and, later, in other areas of the state. Martin researched and applied applicable state and federal case law regarding school choice programs and also worked with experts in the field of early childhood development to assist in applying appropriate educational standards to the private schools participating in the program. In the same position, he also worked extensively on juvenile justice issues. In addition, Martin served as General Counsel for the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office and Assistant District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish D.A.'s Office from 1994-1998.

Martin received his B.A. in Political Science from LSU in 1989 and completed his J.D. at LSU Law School in 1993. He received his high school diploma from Silliman Institute in Clinton, LA.

Richie Edmonds- Secretary

Richie Edmonds is employed with Thornton, Harvison and Rhodes Commercial Real Estate as one of the company's Executive Agents. He is responsible for general sales and leasing, land research, and property development. He is also active in buyer and tenant representation for site selection and planning for investment properties.

Prior to his position at THR Commercial Real Estate, Edmonds dedicated many years of service working with teenagers as a youth minister on staff at Healing Place Church and Parkview Baptist Church and School in Baton Rouge. In 2004, Edmonds ran for and was elected to the Republican National Convention Delegate Selection Caucus for the state of Louisiana.

He is also a member of Forum 35, Louisiana Family Forum, Healing Place Church, Pastor's Resource Council, and the Greater Baton Rouge Board of Realtors.

Edmonds received his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1998 and is happily married to Holly Lively Edmonds.

Jason Dore'- Treasurer

Jason Dore' recently received his Bachelors in Civil Law and Juris Doctorate from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. During his time in law school, Jason was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and served in various leadership capacities including President of the LSU Federalist Society and editor-in-chief of the student news paper, The Civilian. Dore' also gained valuable experience working as a law clerk for both U.S. Fifth Circuit Judge Eugene Davis and The Livingston Group in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Dore' wrote a weekly opinion column for the LSU Daily Reveille for nearly five years.

Prior to attending law school, Dore' worked for the Heritage Foundation, the Louisiana Republican Party, and the Louisiana Senate. He was also an active voice and known leader while completing his B.A. in Mass Communications at Louisiana State University. He served as Chief Justice of the University Court, was a founding member of Kappa Sigma, and was elected president of the Tiger Athletic Foundation Collegiate Club.

Dore' is a native of Lafayette, LA and a graduate of Westminster Christian Academy and the U.S. House of Representatives Page School. He currently resides in Baton Rouge, where he is preparing for the Louisiana Bar Exam.
